Important Note: Glass must be kept separate from other recyclables, and is NOT accepted in green-lid curbside recycling carts or mixed recycling containers at drop-off sites. Put glass in PURPLE drop-off containers only. DO NOT put boxes or bags into the PURPLE container. Porcelain, ceramic, Pyrex, and cookware glass items are NOT accepted.

Did You Know

When mixed with other recyclables, broken glass can contaminate those materials, causing them to be discarded or “downcycled” into lower-quality recycled products. Broken glass can also be harmful to workers and equipment. Safely and effectively recycle your glass by using the PURPLE containers at the City of Omaha's glass recycling sites.
